Pomona College is an elite liberal arts college with highly regarded teachers. On Ratemyprofessor.com, the average grade Pomona students give their professors is 3.96 (on a five-point scale), which puts the school’s faculty in the top 30 nationwide. Pomona is also one of only handful of colleges that promises to meet the full demonstrated need of admitted students, allowing most to graduate without any student debt.
With 1,500 undergraduates, Pomona is comparatively small, but students can take any class offered by the other members of the Claremont Colleges consortium—Claremont-McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer, and Scripps. The schools combine to offer many Division III sports and extracurricular activities as well. One popular club: On the Loose, or OTL, an outdoor activities club that sponsors more than 50 trips every year.
