Fiat Chrysler is recalling certain model year Dodge Chargers from model years 2011 to 2014. Over 280,000 vehicles, which were manufactured from May 2010 until June 2014, may be affected. In the affected vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "the side impact sensor calibrations may be overly sensitive, and as a result, the side air bag inflatable curtains and seat air bags may unexpectedly deploy and the seat belt pre-tensioners may activate." What that means, evidently, is that a vigorous slam of a Charger's door could set off airbags. This is similar to a recent problem with the Dodge Ram truck, subjecting it to a recall of more than 800,000 vehicles.

Owners may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov.
