With Americans spending more than $2.1 billion on candy this Halloween, you’re bound to have at least a few Reese’s Pieces and Hershey bars left over. So just how long can you ration out your child’s Halloween fare? It all depends on the type of candy. Peeps last the longest, staying fresh for a full two years (make of that what you will), while chocolate and bubble gum have the shortest life spans. The rest of the goodies fall somewhere between.
