People are going nuts over a $150 sequined pillow. Yes, you read that right (but who would've thought the Internet would melt down a year ago trying to determine whether a dress was blue and black or white and gold?)

On Sunday, Dallas TV journalist Steve Noviello uploaded a video of himself playing with the sequins on what have been dubbed "mermaid pillows." He drew patterns in the sequins with his fingers, which flipped the sequins over to their differently-colored undersides, and then brushed the squiggles back out. Kind of like the old-school Etch-a-Sketch toys, but without knobs. Kind of funny, a little weird — oh, and the pillows were $150 a pop. No big deal.

And then the Internet exploded. To date, the clip has been viewed some 29 million times, with around 229,000 likes and 101,000 comments. The retailer where Noviello filmed the pillows, Nebraska Furniture Mart, posted a giveaway of some of the pillows, although it said it had sold out of them and was working with the supplier to have more manufactured and shipped to the store as soon as possible. "Due to the incredible demand, our team has reached out to the designer so that we can get more of these pillows in stock!" the store wrote on its Facebook page.
