Author Tom Corley's research suggests that the way we think can keep us from our full earning potential. For example, if we believe that we aren't smart, we won't study or work hard in school, and that could hurt our chances of getting into college. And not having that college degree can keep us from getting the job we really want—one that will pay us enough to live comfortably. So if you believe you can do well in school, go to college, and get that degree, you can get a job and make a decent living. It really is that simple.
