And you thought prices at the bodega were getting steep.

Cronut mastermind Dominique Ansel partnered with molecular gastronomist Wylie Dufresne for a high-brow take on New Yorkers' favorite breakfast food: the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Naturally the Ansel-Dufresne hybrid, deemed the wd~Ansel Egg Melt, is no ordinary BEC, reflected in the premium price of $20.

The sandwich will feature "(s)oft scrambled eggs with a confit egg yolk, melted homemade cheese, black truffle, maple flakes, bacon, all served on a smoked English muffin (where we smoke the flour before it's baked) plus a side of extra crisp Truffled Hashbrowns," according to the bakery's Facebook page. It will be available MLK weekend, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 16, until it is sold out, at Ansel's West Village location.

According to Ansel's Facebook, the chefs "did what they do best," Dufresne tackling the eggs and Ansel the smoked English muffins.

Better get in line now.
