There are few foods people seem to love more than bacon, if the shear number of random products that harness the flavor and scent are anything to go by. Bacon soap. Bacon deodorant. (Deodorant?) Even bacon flavored and colored prophylactics. If you can think it, it’s safe to say there’s a bacon version.

Bacon-related careers, however, have been in short supply if you don’t want to work at a farm, abattoir, or food service job. But one has in fact opened up: A bacon critic position at Extra Crispy, the new breakfast-only publication from MONEY’s parent company, Time Inc.

The paid (salary to be negotiated, the fine print says), three-month freelance position is a very real job that covers the bacon beat—researching, reporting, critiquing, and writing about bacon. Strong opinions are a must, reads the description—as well as good writing skills and strong voice.

The application is structured like a promotional contest, which is refreshingly honest because all job applications are essentially contests. Applications are in the form of a 600-word (or shorter) essay about your favorite bacon-related memory to the email address bacon@extracrispy.com. It’s due by June 24, and you can’t work for Time Inc. already.
