Still have a video cassette recorder collecting dust in the corner of your living room? You may want to hold on to it.

Prepare to get nostalgic: Funai Electric, the last Japanese VCR producer, is shutting down production at the end of the month, according to the Verge. The company was selling as many 15 million units per year, but last year sold just 750,000. The company sited falling sales due to the advent of new technology as well as problems with obtaining parts needed to make the machines.

And like that, yet another remnant of the past slips away with the passage of time and introduction of newer, shinier tech. Meanwhile, your VHS tapes might be worth something. Maybe your old VCR will be too.
