Amanda Steinberg, CEO of DailyWorth and WorthFM, says that there are social misconceptions surrounding the ways women manage their money. These misconceptions aren’t true, Steinberg says. But both men and women behave as if they are. There are negative thoughts and feelings surrounding money, like “There will never be enough” or “I just can’t save.” Steinberg believes that women think managing money is a man’s job and that men are better at managing money. Women also tend to enter the money conversation late and then feel guilty or ashamed that they didn’t act sooner or save earlier.

Steinberg says that women just need to tell themselves that they can manage money and that there is still time to save for the future. Investing and approaching money as though it is something they can handle is the way to start.
