If you have a small business, you know you want to use social media like Facebook and Twitter to increase sales. Kim Garst has made her living telling businesses how they should use social media to their advantage.

The one thing all business owners say to her is that they want to use social media to make money. This is possible Garst says, but you have to first build a brand.

Before you even make a Facebook page or Twitter account for your business, you need to come up with at least five things that you, the business owner, stand for. Garst wants you to use those ideals as a guideline for what you post on social media. The important thing is to be yourself, she says.
