Attention shoppers: With a little over a week before Thanksgiving 2018, grocery stores are rolling out deals on just about every appetizer, side, main course, and dessert that could be part of your Thanksgiving feast. Of course, these special promotions include amazing deals on turkeys.
The Thanksgiving holiday is a huge sales event for supermarkets, and one particular deal always helps stores bring in crowds of shoppers: free turkeys. Even if grocery stores aren’t offering free turkeys for Thanksgiving, the odds are they have big discounts right now — like turkey deals for less than $1 a pound.
To make your Thanksgiving shopping trips easier, we’ve rounded up the best turkey deals from more than a dozen major supermarkets below, including Safeway, ShopRite, Publix, Kroger, and Stop & Shop.
Generally speaking, you’ll need to be a member of the store’s rewards program to get a free turkey or snag the best deals. In some cases, there are minimum purchase requirements that must be met before you can get a free turkey, and shoppers are often limited by how many cheap or free turkeys they’re allowed to get during the special promotional period.
Promotions vary from location to location too, so check your local store’s weekly circular for all the details. Happy Thanksgiving!
