Ramapo College of New Jersey

Mahwah, NJwww.ramapo.edu
Ramapo College has made a name for itself in the 50 years since its foundation in 1969. This liberal arts college offers more than 500 courses to its roughly 6,000 students. Ramapo is particularly popular for its business, psychology, and journalism programs. The class sizes run small at about 21 students per classroom, which allows for face-to-face interactions with professors. About half of Ramapo students are commuters, and as a result, campus tends to be pretty quiet on the weekends. The campus, located in a wealthy corner of New Jersey, is only about an hour's drive from New York City and roughly 20 minutes from a part of the Appalachian Trail on the Ramapo Mountains. For those people looking to stay busy while on campus, there are more than 100 student groups including a beekeeping club, Disney and Harry Potter-themed organizations, arts and cultural clubs, rock climbing, and a sci-fi and comic book club. Plus, there is an active Greek life with 25 fraternities and sororities. Notable alumni from the college include popular YouTuber Grace Helbig and singer Patrick Stickles of the punk rock band Titus Andronicus.
