University of Arizona

Tucson, AZwww.arizona.edu
Despite the dry Southwest heat in Tucson, there is no shortage of energy and enthusiasm at the University of Arizona. From cheering on their successful football and basketball teams to boasting about their status as a premier research institution, Wildcats are proud to be at the U of A. The university is the oldest in the state, and was established in 1885 when Arizona was still only a territory of the U.S. The large undergraduate population of more than 35,000 students is a diverse medley of fervent sports fans and dedicated scholars. When it comes to causing a ruckus, the Wildcats have celebration and fun in their blood. For evidence look no further than the Zona Zoo, the student cheering section that won the NCSSA Student Section of the Year award -- twice. Before and after the game, you will find Arizona students enjoying the warm climate outdoors at various tailgate parties or hitting up one of the 27 fraternities on campus. It's not all fun and games, though; the school offers more than 100 undergraduate majors with business, marketing, and psychology being the most popular choices. The university's wide array of cultures and ethnicities means there are myriad of resources for everyone on campus, including 10 cultural identity centers that provide resources for and celebrate diverse identities.
