CUNY Queens College

Queens College is part of the City University of New York system. One of the five boroughs of New York City, Queens is sometimes referred to as "America's most ethnically diverse county," and the university's nearly 20,000 students reflect that diversity. White, non-Hispanic students make up a minority; the student body includes people from more than 150 countries. Historically a commuter school, with both day and evening classes, Queens College also has a 506-bed residence hall called Summit Apartments. Undergraduates have their choice of nearly 70 majors, with education being one of the school’s strong suits. In fact, Queens College School of Education alumni are more likely to become employed by the New York City public school system than any other alumni from other colleges in the metropolitan area. Students can choose from over 100 student organizations, including a slew of sororities and fraternities. A few of the school's standout students include Jerry Seinfeld, Carole King, and Paul Simon.
