College of Mount Saint Vincent

If you dream of going to college on 70 pastoral acres overlooking the Hudson River, this school may be your reality. Though rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, this liberal arts college -- located in the Riverdale area of the Bronx -- is proud of the inclusiveness it has fostered since its founding in 1847 by the Sisters of Charity. With an average class size of 20, the Mount provides an intimate educational setting for its 1,800-plus undergraduate and graduate students, who major in everything from Arabic, economics, and nursing to philosophy, studio art, and women's studies. The college's core curriculum requirement extends over four years, providing students with a grounding in literature, foreign language, art, history, philosophy, economics, psychology, communication and more. Student athletes will appreciate that the Mount offers 15 varsity sports for men and women as well as a recently renovated 7,500-square-foot fitness center. Does campus look familiar? That's because you may have seen it in an episode of "Law & Order."
