Iona College

New Rochelle, NYhttps://www.iona.edu
Iona College was founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers to provide an affordable college education to New York's working class. Today, the school offers more than 45 undergraduate majors and more than 20 graduate programs, including a fast-track MBA. About 40% of the college's nearly 3,300 undergraduate students live on campus. Iona also offers five-year combined bachelor's/master's programs in chemistry, computer science, criminal justice, economics, English, and psychology. The school's proximity to New York City provides a multitude of internship opportunities, while study-abroad offerings include programs in Ireland, Barcelona, Rome, and more. Iona's College Honors program gives students specially designed course offerings, plus an appealing bonus: six free tuition credits per academic year that can be taken in the winter or summer sessions or as a sixth course during the fall and spring semesters. The free courses, says the school, "can facilitate double majors, accelerate graduation, or broaden the educational experience with no financial burden."
