Inevitably, you find it in the back of your fridge three weeks later and wish that you just threw it out because, at the end of the day, it was only 50 cents. Tomato paste in a tube may sound weird, but it has changed my cooking game. Take for example Red Stripe, which is $7.99 for a six-pack at Trader Joe’s. The price at a comparable grocery chain in New York City? $10.99. There’s no reason to spend that much on a commercial beer, even if it is [brewed in Jamaica](https://www.brewbound.com/news/first-cases-jamaican-produced-red-stripe-arrives-u-s).
