Town Center Park is the heart of Suwanee. The 23-acre plot is full of locally owned restaurants, specialty stores, and City Hall, in addition to a huge water fountain, an amphitheater, and scores of public artworks. (A slab from the Berlin Wall is on display now.)

Residents also enjoy occasional food-truck days, with about 10 mobile outposts, and concerts, such as a recent Eve 6 show. But this is an Atlanta suburb -- and a fast-growing one at that -- meaning that traffic is often brutal. --S.M.
