Berkley offers the feel of small-town life with easy access to jobs and entertainment in Detroit. An adorably walkable downtown along Twelve Mile Road also provides locals with shopping and other diversions close to home. The town's east border of Woodward Avenue hosts the annual Woodward Dream Cruise classic-car show every August, drawing 1.5 million visitors to the area.
The town also features strong public schools. Berkley High School, one of the best in the state, has been named to Newsweek's list of the 1,000 best high schools in the nation.
