Lake Michigan Credit Union Prime Platinum Visa

APR: 6% to 14%

Annual Fee: $0

Balance-Transfer Fee: $0

Why It’s a Winner: It offers the lowest APR among no-fee cards. With rates starting at 6%, vs. the average 15.66%, this card can save you real money if you tend to carry a balance. Also, as the card has no balance-transfer fee, it can pay to shift over a debt you’ll be chipping away at for a while.

Caveats: To get 6%, you’ll need excellent credit. You must be a member of the credit union to apply, but a $5 donation to the West Michigan Chapter of the ALS Association gets you in.
