Citi Simplicity

Intro APR: 0% on purchases and balance transfers for 18 months

Regular APR: 13% to 22%

Annual Fee: $0

Balance-Transfer Fee: 3%

Why It’s a Winner: The longest 0% intro APR on new purchases among cards that have no annual fee, giving you a full 18 months without interest to pay off those new kitchen appliances or your kid’s tuition. Plus, the card is forgiving—the Simplicity won’t ever charge you a late fee or penalty rates.

Caveat: Because of the fee on balance transfers, the Chase Slate is better for that purpose despite the Simplicity’s longer 0% period.
