Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Located less than 15 miles south of downtown Denver, Highlands Ranch is a snug and tranquil bedroom community now undergoing an economic boom. Charles Schwab's Denver-area offices are here, and a new UC Health Center scheduled to open in March 2019 is expected to create 400 new jobs.
Overall, Moody's Analytics predicts that county jobs will grow 7.4% between 2017 and 2022.
Founded in 1981, the 22,000-acre planned community is also a great place to settle a family, with top-notch schools and low crime risk. An influx of residents in recent years has seen the population soar to almost 100,000.
There is still plenty for everyone to do though: Resources include 19 public parks, over 2,000 acres of undeveloped land set aside for exploring, and more than 60 miles of trails for running, biking, and walking. — Sergei Klebnikov
