With a colorful Patriotic history, storybook landscapes, and a recent burst of economic development, Huntington combines stateliness with stability to give residents a comfortable life. The five harbors that pucker the north shore of town are busy with recreational boating, golf courses, parks, and beaches. On the more sophisticated end of the leisure spectrum, stately mansions and museums such as the Oheka Castle, featured in Taylor Swift’s Blank Space video, or Walt Whitman’s birthplace, now a museum, allow for days spent learning local history.
In addition to the storybook landscape, Huntington has shown some big steps forward in economic growth over the last few years. The “110 Corridor,” which runs along Route 110, has developed with an influx of manufacturing units and businesses.
