The oldest neighborhood in Denver, LoDo (short for Lower Downtown), has maintained all the charm of the Colorado capital. A flag-lined main street and countless murals make for Instagrammable moments, and some of the cities' best-known restaurants are located in the area, including local-fare spots like [Denver Milk Market](https://www.denvermilkmarket.com/) and [Coohills](https://www.coohills.com/). Entertainment is abundant, as the iconic [Coors Field](https://www.mlb.com/rockies/ballpark), home to the Colorado Rockies baseball team, is nearby. To get transported into the past, you can take a tour at [Union Station](https://unionstationindenver.com/), a historic train station landmark.

The economy is strong in LoDo: The median household income is $108,086. Job growth increased by 26.5% between 2010 to 2018, and more opportunities are coming with the development of a new Amazon campus [set to bring 400 tech jobs](https://www.denverpost.com/2019/04/30/amazon-opening-new-office-in-downtown-denver-to-make-room-for-400-more-workers/). A whopping 27% of residents commute by walking or biking, according to Money’s data analysis.

Even though residents reap the benefits of big-city life, they can't escape the incredible geography of the Centennial State and can take advantage of hiking, skiing, river rafting, and more outdoor adventures just a short drive away.
