The second-largest city in Kansas, Overland Park continues to attract newcomers with the resources and appeal of a big city. Its public schools are famed for their high graduation rate, while the bustling business community — Overland Park is home to telecom giant Sprint’s world headquarters, among other employers — helps keep unemployment low.

The city has a reputation for being affordable, with low home prices and a median family incomes that's well above the state average. It also boasts a vibrant downtown; weekly farmers’ markets, concerts and events; and numerous resources to keep residents active.

With 72 parks and more than 1,800 acres of open space, Overland Park's draws include the 300-acre Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, as well as the massive, nationally recognized Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex. — Sergei Klebnikov
