Between room and board and classes, going to college is expensive. But it gets even more expensive because of all the little things colleges tack onto your bill, explains [Lynnette Khalfani-Cox](http://themoneycoach.net). STEM field majors, theater majors and art majors may find that they pay a little extra to study on campus. Extracurricular activities can also cost. Joining a fraternity or a sorority can run up a bill of $1,000 or more. And the final thing that makes college so expensive? Textbooks. Khalfani-Cox talks about all the hiddens costs of college and offers advice for cutting them down a little.
