Kick off fall with a budget-friendly fall dessert? Yes, please!

If you've gone apple picking and find yourself the proud owner of too many apples, this quick apple crisp dessert is for you. Nearly all you'll need for this Dorm Room Dinner Hack is a couple of your favorite apples, a microwave and some ice cream to top it all off.

Make sure that you cut the apple into bite size pieces, mix liberally with cinnamon and lemon juice (a quick life hack: use your clean fingers as a strainer to catch any seeds) and then microwave until the butter has melted and the apple is warm to the touch. Add some crunchy granola (we were partial to the kind that had a little cinnamon in it) and top with vanilla ice cream. You can use whipped cream or vanilla yogurt if ice cream isn't for you.
