The disappearances of past services often come with no announcements, and Costco often doesn’t explain why it drops a service. If you are wondering about some perks in past years, it’s not just you. These six Costco services have quietly disappeared over the years. ## 6 Costco’s perks you may miss Costco hasn’t just been getting rid of benefits. It has also included some new ones, such as executive early hours and digital membership cards. However, some long-time Costco members may reminisce about some of the prior perks that have been discontinued. Here are six you may miss. ### 1\. Costco Next Costco Next was a members-only site that provided discounts on products from third-party brands that were a part of the program. Anker and Briggs & Riley were some of the curated companies in the marketplace. However, those purchases went through partner sites, so Costco’s return policy didn’t apply. Costco Next has been discontinued and its page on Costco's website now points you to a list of the vendors with active return policies. ### 2\. No-limit returns on electronics Costco has a generous return policy, and members can return most items at any time for a refund. However, there are exceptions. For instance, the retailer ended its no-limit returns for electronics in [2007](https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna17350641). The company now has a 90-day refund policy for electronics so people can’t abuse the program or refund their electronics when they want to upgrade to something new or get rid of a used device as if it was a new one. ### 3\. Costco Mortgage Program Costco previously partnered with third-party mortgage lenders to cap origination fees to $550 for Gold Star members and $250 for executive members. The company ended this service in 2022, and you can no longer find details on its site or purchase a mortgage at the warehouses alongside a hot dog. ### 4\. Photo centers Costco shut down its photo center in [2021](https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/14/business/costco-photo-closing-centers), meaning members can no longer take advantage of services like ink refills and getting their passport photos taken. Then, the online photo center was shut down in 2023. However, Costco does have a partnership with Shutterfly, where members can get photo prints, create photo books and more for a discount. ### 5\. "The Costco Way" Black Friday cookbook Costco used to give out free cookbooks during Black Friday that featured ingredients sold in Costco stores and wasn’t limited to holiday meals. Now that the program is no longer, you can get new recipes in the Costco Connection magazine or find the old Costco cookbooks available on resale sites. ### 6\. Extended warranty on the Costco credit card Costco members used to get an extra 24 months of warranty on eligible items that they bought with their Costco credit cards.
