Financial bloggers known as Mr. and Mrs. Frugalwoods plan to retire by age 33. Here are some of their tips for optimizing their budget.

**Re-evaluate what's important to you.** The Frugalwoods spend $0.10 on their breakfast and use what they save there to treat themselves to a more meaningful meal at dinner.

**Abstain for one month.** Cut something down or cut something out of your lifestyle entirely for 30 days.

**See how you feel about that.** Did you miss what you scaled back or cut out? Then incorporate it back into your lifestyle. If the month goes by and you realize that you forgot, then what you cut out must not have been that important to you.
