The Elks National Foundation awards 500 four-year scholarships a year, ranging anywhere from $4,000 to $50,000. You don’t have to be related to a member of the Elks, but you do have to provide test scores and write an essay of no more than 500 words.

Award Breakdown:

  • 20 finalists will head to Chicago to compete for two first-place awards of $50,00, two second-place awards of $40,000; and two third-place awards of $30,000
  • The remaining 14 finalists will receive awards of $20,000
  • 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000
