Buffalo Wild Wings, Wingstop, Wing Zone, Hooters, and a bunch of other restaurant chains will give you free chicken wings today.

Why? It's National Chicken Wing Day 2018. Like so many other faux holidays, National Chicken Wing Day (celebrated annually on July 29) randomly appeared on the calendar sometime in the recent past and has evolved into a regular event promoted by restaurant sales and marketing teams.

The takeaway for you — and all fans of chicken wings and free food deals in general — is that there are tons of freebies and chicken wing deals at restaurants on Sunday, July 29. Here's where to go to score free chicken wings, at participating locations only.

Buffalo Wild Wings

For National Chicken Wing Day 2018, Buffalo Wild Wings customers can get a free snack-sized order of wings (about five wings, normally priced at around $7) with the purchase of any small, medium or large order of wings.

Hooters

This Sunday at Hooters restaurants around the country, you can get 10 boneless wings free when you purchase 10 wings or more in any style for National Chicken Wing Day 2018.

Wingstop

Use the promo code 5FREEWINGS when placing an order this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wingstop, and you'll get five free wings. (Your main order must include wings — in any style and size of your choosing.)

East Coast Wings & Grill

East Coast Wings, a North Carolina-based chain with 60 locations around the U.S., has a special National Chicken Wing Day deal for all members of its "Taste the Rewards" loyalty program: 50-cent wings, in your choice of boneless or bone-in. There is a maximum order of 25 wings per person with the deal — which, again, is only available for rewards members.

Wing Zone

Wing Zone locations have a special National Chicken Wing Day 2018 deal offering 16 wings for $10 — on Sunday, July 29 only.

Epic Wings N' Things

When you buy a single meal and a fountain drink on National Wing Day at Epic Wings 'N Things, you'll get a coupon good for a free single meal and drink on your next visit.

Native Grill and Wings

Wings are just 10 cents each at Native Grill and Wings on Sunday for National Chicken Wing Day 2018. There is, however, a limit of 10 wings per person with the 10-cent wing deal. Dine-in orders only.

Pluckers Wing Bar

The Texas restaurant chain Pluckers has anniversary deals all week long, including deals on wings and beer on Sunday, July 29: 75-cent wings and $1 Miller Lites, all day long. (Wings must be ordered in increments of 10 to get the deal.)
