Investors already know how the next president will affect their investments. Donald Trump will cause stocks to drop by half and bonds to implode after he renegotiates the national debt. Hillary Clinton will burden hard-working Americans with a trillion-dollar tax increase, thereby stifling innovation and hiring. Right?

Guessing the correct direction of stocks over a particular time with any consistency is already a nearly impossible task. Trying to game out winners and losers based on political narratives will only complicate your path to a fully-funded retirement.

While your preferred political candidate may best represent your philosophy, he or she won’t necessarily be better or worse for your wealth.

Don’t believe that? Think you know how stocks will perform under President Donald Trump or President Hillary Clinton? Test your knowledge about how stocks did under past presidents in this quiz.
