There's always a lot of hype around Labor Day sales, and Labor Day 2017 is no exception.
Use your holiday to shop smart: While it's true that there are a lot of savings to be had, not all Labor Day sales are created equal. Money sifted through all of the deals, promotions and coupon codes for clothes, shoes, and department stores to round up the best Labor Day weekend sales offering 50% off or more.
That doesn't mean the retailers listed below have good deals on everything. When a store says it has discounts "up to" a certain percent off, the deals might apply only to a small selection of merchandise. For that matter, plenty of items might see no discounts whatsoever. So keep an eye out for only truly good values, and pay attention to the expiration dates — some sales end as early as Saturday.
Ann Taylor: This retailer has 50% off "select" full-priced items, and 50% off all sale items. The extra sale discount is valid now through September 3 at 5 p.m. ET. The discount on full-priced items is valid until September 5 at 3 a.m. ET.
Bloomingdales: Get up to 60% off "almost all sale items," site-wide, through September 4.
Gap: They're going all out: Get 50% off, site-wide, and get an additional 20% off your purchase with the coupon code GETMORE through September 2.
Guess: Get up to 50% off, site-wide, through September 4.
Macy's: While supplies last, Macy's has up to 70% off clearance and closeout merchandise across numerous categories. Through September 4, you can also get 20% off site-wide with the coupon code LBDAY (just take note of these exclusions, as is typical with these kinds of sales).
Neiman Marcus: Get up to 65% off summer clothes, shoes, accessories and home goods through September 4 at Neiman Marcus's end-of-season summer sale.
Old Navy: Old Navy has 50% all jeans, dresses and T-shirts. Plus, through September 4, get a $10 "super cash" credit for every $25 you spend, up to a discount of $30 in-store or $50 online. Just one note: You have to redeem those between September 5 and 13.
Williams-Sonoma: Make the most of the waning days of barbecue weather: For a limited time, Williams-Sonoma has up to 60% off grilling tools and up to 60% off outdoor dining essentials. Also, through September 4, you can get an extra 20% off regular-price items (see excluded brands here) and free shipping with the coupon code FALL.
