Refi.com Mortgage Refinance Review
If you need to refinance your mortgage loan, there are hundreds of banks, credit unions and lenders you can choose from. Each one offers a different lineup of loan products, has its own qualifying requirements and fees, and serves different purposes. Interest rates and customer service can vary widely by lender, too.
Here’s what you need to know about Refi.com, what it has to offer, and how it may be able to help you achieve your refinancing goals.
Refi.com overview
Refi.com is an online refinancing platform operated by the Mortgage Research Center, which owns lending companies like Veterans United and First Residential Independent Mortgage. It serves borrowers in 45 U.S. states and D.C., and offers options to lower your interest rate and monthly payment or cash in on your home equity.
One of Refi.com’s standout qualities is that it specializes in refinancing, making for more streamlined processing, approval and closing. It also has a learning center, boasting a wide array of home equity and mortgage resources, and there are dozens of calculators you can use to ensure you’re making the right move for your finances. Its refinance break-even calculator is particularly helpful, letting you determine whether the savings of a refinance will benefit the costs in your specific scenario.

Pros explained
Lots of online tools and resources
Refi.com offers over two dozen calculators that can help you gauge how much a refinance can save you (and cost you), as well as what income you’ll need to qualify, how much equity you can borrow and more. There’s also a robust learning center with articles about home equity, refinancing and mortgage rates, among other topics.
Several loan options to choose from
With Refi.com, there are several loan products you can choose to refinance into: Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans, Veterans Affairs (VA) loans, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) loans and conventional loans. Traditional rate-and-term, streamline and cash-out refinancing options are also available.
Experienced parent company
Mortgage Research Center is a well-known name in the business. The company has been around for over two decades and has built a strong reputation in the industry. MRC originated nearly 150,000 mortgage loans in 2025 alone, according to Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data.
No fees
Refi.com charges no origination fees or lender-side fees, and the only costs you’ll pay are your title and escrow account charges. This helps minimize upfront costs and can help you reap the financial benefits of refinancing much sooner.
Fast approval and closing times
With Refi.com, you can get a conditional loan approval in as little as 48 hours after submitting your application. That means within two days, you’ll know where you stand in terms of qualifying, as well as what terms and rate you might be eligible for. The lender also advertises faster closing times than more traditional lenders and often requires no appraisal. According to the company, less than half of its refinances have required an appraisal.
Cons explained
Does not serve all 50 states
Although it is an online lender, Refi.com does not serve borrowers in all 50 states. The company is not currently licensed in Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, or Utah, so borrowers in these areas will need to look elsewhere for refinancing options.
Does not directly originate home equity loans or HELOCs
Though home equity loans and HELOCs are advertised on Refi.com, the fine print states that these are not originated directly by the company but rather by “third-party lending partners.” No further details are provided on those partners or their terms.
Limited reviews
There aren’t many publicly available customer reviews of Refi.com. The lender has no distinct Better Business Bureau profile, and there are no reviews for Refi.com on Trustpilot or Google. The company does have a 9.31 rating based on 19 internal reviews.
Refi.com mortgage offerings
There are four loan products you can choose from when you refinance through Refi.com: Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans. Here’s what to know about each of these options:
Conventional loans
Refi.com offers fixed-rate conventional loans with terms of 15 and 30 years. You can opt for a traditional rate-and-term refinance or a cash-out refinance. It does not appear that Refi.com offers any adjustable-rate loan options.
Refi.com requires at least a 620 credit score for a conventional rate-and-term refinance and a 660 score for a conventional cash-out refinance.
FHA loans
You can also refinance into an FHA loan using Refi.com. There are streamlined options if you already have an FHA loan and simply want to reduce your rate or payment, as well as the traditional rate-and-term refinance. You can take cash out with an FHA loan as well.
Refi.com requires a minimum credit score of 620 for all types of FHA refinances.
VA loans
If you or your spouse is a military member or veteran (and you meet specific service requirements), you can use Refi.com to refinance a VA loan, too. As with FHA loans, there are streamline, rate-and-term and cash-out options. The big benefit of these loans is that they offer 100% financing, so you may be able to take out more cash with these than with other options.
Refi.com requires at least a 620 for VA rate-and-term refinances and 660 for VA cash-out refinancing.
USDA loans
USDA loans, which are backed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, are another refinancing option you can explore at Refi.com. Just keep in mind that these loans have income caps and are only available on properties in eligible rural parts of the country. See the USDA’s map for eligibility info.
Refi.com requires at least a 620 for USDA refinancing. These loans do not allow cash-out refinancing.
Jumbo loans
Jumbo loans can help you refinance larger loan amounts and more expensive properties. Anything over the conforming loan limit of $832,750 typically requires a jumbo loan, though it depends on the loan program you’re considering. Jumbo loans can be used for rate-and-term refinancing and cash-out refinancing.
Home equity loans and HELOCs
Refi.com advertises home equity loans and HELOCs on its website, but the company doesn’t actually originate them. These are offered through “third-party lending partners.” No additional info is given about these partners.
Refi.com Pricing
Refi.com isn’t very transparent about its pricing. While it does post often about interest rates in its online learning center, those are noted as “market averages” — not rates specifically offered by Refi.com. The lender did tell Money.com it charges no origination or lender-side fees, though.
To get an idea of what refinancing through Refi.com might cost you, you’ll need to fill out the lender’s online quote form and wait for a representative to contact you.
Refi.com financial stability
Refi.com and its parent company, Mortgage Research Center, have not had any serious financial setbacks in recent history. MRC has been around since 2002, and according to the National Mortgage Licensing System, the company has had no regulatory actions taken against it since 2019.
Veterans United, another MRC-owned lender, had one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings among mortgage lenders in 2025, according to J.D. Power. Government data shows that MRC originated almost $46.4 million in mortgage loans in 2025 alone. These factors support the view that Refi.com and its parent company are financially stable.
Refi.com accessibility
Availability
Refi.com is online-only, so you can’t get in-person assistance like you can with a physical bank or credit union. The lender also serves only 44 states.
Contact information
You can contact Refi.com via phone at 833-609-0913, email at contact@refi.com, or snail mail at 1930 W Bennett St., Suite 100, Springfield, MO 65807. You can also fill out a rate quote form and wait for a representative to contact you.
User experience
Refi.com offers some information about its loan offerings, but there are no details on costs, qualifying requirements, term availability or rates. You also must submit a full form — and await direct contact from the company — to get a rate quote.
Refi.com customer satisfaction
Refi.com doesn’t have many reviews to go off. The company has no Better Business Bureau profile and no presence on Trustpilot. Its parent company has high ratings on Zillow.

Summary of Money's Refi.com review
Refi.com is a decent option if you’re considering refinancing your mortgage, offering conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA refinances. It’s not available in all 50 states, though, and its home equity loan and HELOC options are offered through partner lenders — not issued directly by the company.
The platform does not provide insight into its rates or qualifying requirements, though it offers a wide array of resources and calculators to help you make a more informed decision. The company has few customer reviews, but other lenders owned by its parent company are standouts for customer trust and satisfaction.
