It can be hard to find stores open on Christmas Day for last-minute gifts, or just for picking up a few ingredients essential for Christmas dinner.

Even Walmart stores open 24 hours a day are closed on Dec. 25—as Christmas is the only major holiday that Walmart is closed. Most grocery stores are closed on Christmas Day as well, and the few grocery stores open on Christmas Day tend to have limited hours.

For the most part, shoppers are left with chain drugstores and convenience stores as the only places open on Christmas Day. Here are spots that desperate shoppers can expect to find open on Christmas Day 2017—including one convenience store chain that's giving away free coffee and hot chocolate to all.

7-Eleven: Most stores are open 365 days a year, including Christmas Day.

Circle K: Like most gas station convenience stores, Circle K locations are open on Christmas Day.

Cumberland Farms: Not only is Cumberland Farms open on Christmas Day, but all of this convenience store's locations in the Northeast and Florida are giving away free hot beverages—coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, tea—to all customers on Dec. 25.

CVS: Most stores are open Christmas Day, though services and hours may be limited.

Family Dollar: Select Family Dollar stores are open on Christmas Day until 5 p.m., a company representative says.

Rite Aid: Most stores are open on Christmas Day.

Sheetz: All Sheetz convenience stores are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including Christmas Day.

Walgreens: Locations for Walgreens and its sister pharmacy chain Duane Reade are open with normal hours on Christmas Day.

Wawa: Most stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Christmas Day included.
