First-year students are required to live on campus, but many of the roughly 18,000 undergraduates choose to take advantage of four years of guaranteed housing. The main campus, which stretches along the Charles River, offers students a front-row seat to iconic Boston cultural events like the Head of the Charles regatta, concerts at the Hatch Shell or catching a Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

BU’s location and curriculum make it particularly popular with international students, and the university boasts more than 180 study abroad opportunities. BU's 10 colleges and schools offer more than 300 programs, and an average 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

BU athletes compete in NCAA Division I sports, and the celebrated hockey programs regularly put the Terriers in the national spotlight.
