Melissa Cohn

Melissa Cohn, is the Regional Vice President at William Raveis Mortgage and a pioneer in the mortgage industry with 42 years of experience.

A 1982 graduate of Smith College, Cohn started her career at Citibank, where she ran mortgage sales operations for ten branches on New York City’s Upper East Side. In 1985, she founded The Manhattan Mortgage Company, becoming one of the first independent mortgage brokers on the East Coast and ultimately growing the company into the top residential mortgage broker in the region.

In July 2020, she joined William Raveis Mortgage (WRM), working from the firm’s New York City and East Hampton offices. She is licensed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, South Carolina, and Florida. Soon after joining WRM, she started the Melissa Cohn Group, which includes her daughter, Sarah Alvarez. Cohn remains one of the industry’s top-ranked brokers there.
