West Chester, Ohio
With outstanding schools, modest costs, and commutes, this Cincinnati-area suburb has been growing steadily. High school graduation rates are well above those of the surrounding county, and job growth is steady, with major local employers including GE Aviation, the Lakota Local School District, Trade Global, and West Chester Hospital. (West Chester also holds one of only two Ikea stores in Ohio.)
Golf fans should note that among West Chester's more famous residents is retired House Speaker John Boehner, who according to a recent Politico profile spends plenty of time golfing (and mowing his lawn).
The township has numerous events throughout the year, including music and food festivals, community activities, and holiday parades. During the summer, there are outdoor movies, farmers markets, and a free concert series. Communications buffs can visit West Chester's National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting to learn more about the history of radio technology and broadcast development. West Chester is also home to the EnterTRAINment Junction — a family-friendly attraction which displays over 90 model trains riding on over two miles of track. — Sergei Klebnikov
