Gender Equality at Work? Check Back in 100 Years

Corporate America has the same glass-ceiling look as it had three years ago: men ruling at the very top and women struggling to catch up. Data collected from 118 companies and 30,000 workers show little progress has been made to level the playing field between men and women. In 2012, 16% of C-suite executives were women; that number has ticked up to only 17% today, according to the study, conducted by the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. as part of a partnership with LeanIn.Org. Men move up the ranks more easily, while women were four times more likely to think they have fewer opportunities to advance because of their gender.
