Actor and comic Tyler Perry listed his three-story glass-walled Beverly Hills mansion with a concert venue and space for 30 cars for nearly $17 million on Friday, according to real estate web site Trulia.
The Madea filmmaker’s distinctive 17,245-square-foot Mulholland Drive estate comes with a koi pond, tennis court, pool area with a grotto and water slide, giant motor court and a dining terrace “specifically designed for concerts, fundraisers or holiday parties,” according to its listing. The interior of the house is outfitted with marble stairs and pyramid-shaped skylights.
If you think the description sounds a little familiar, it might be because the house was just on the market six months ago. Perry’s asking price is about $2.5 million higher than when he purchased the estate for $14.5 million in August 2017.
Wondering why Perry would give up such a luxurious home? It could be that the filmmaker, who set a record when he sold his nearly 35,000-square-foot Atlanta home for $17.5 million in 2016, just has an affection for dealing in luxury real estate. Perry listed the mansion with Josh and Matt Altman, luxury Los Angeles real estate brokers known for their work on Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing. Or maybe the home was redundant. According to Variety, the filmmaker’s other Beverly Hills mansion, which measures 25,545 square feet, dwarfs the house that just hit the market.
