Here's the Most Popular Halloween Candy in Each State

If you want to be the house every trick-or-treater wants to stop at this Halloween, stock up on candy corn.

The tri-color treat was voted the most popular Halloween sweet in the most number of states, according to a survey of 40,000 people conducted by online site Influenster.

Despite it's polarizing reputation, candy corn was the top pick in Oregon, Wyoming, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina.

Other popular picks if you're not into candy corn: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kat and Butterfinger. These were the only three candies to be voted top treats by every single state in the U.S.

Or you could get all four kinds. After all, Americans are expected to spend $8.4 billion on candy and costumes this Halloween, the National Retail Federation’s annual survey predicts, and it really is best to diversify.
