This Pro Tennis Player Is Selling His Used BMW on Facebook
Lots of professional athletes interact with their fans on Facebook. But only one player is using the platform to sell a used car.
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios just posted a new item for sale on his personal page: his used 2015 BMW F80 M3.
Kyrgios, a 21-year-old Australian with a reputation for being rebellious on court, posted a photo of the blue beamer on his Facebook page with more than 254,000 followers.
“Alright - I don’t usually post stuff like this on social media… but special exception this time... This was my first car I ever bought, owned from new. The time has come to let it go,” Kygiros wrote.
Though he did not disclose his asking price, he said the car has been “meticulously cared for” and “regularly serviced” with “only 16,000 km” on it.
He encouraged anyone to message him on Facebook for more information.
Kyrgios gave more insight on his asking price in the comments section of his post. One person said he was “looking for a car around the $6000 range,” but Kyrgios responded saying that price would only get him “the petrol tank lid.”
When another commenter suggested he needed more money for the spring tennis season, Kyrgios responded: “Semis of Miami paid 280k US - probably not mate.” (Kyrgios lost a tight match to Swedish tennis star Roger Federer in the Miami Open semi-finals last week. He beat Federer the previous time the two played.)
The world No. 16, Kyrgios will next play in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup — known as the World Cup of Tennis — in Australia this Friday.
With the competition coming up, one commenter warned Kyrgios to “concentrate on tennis only.”
“Thanks Dad,” Kygrios responded.
