A dozen retailers are making it easy for shoppers to pick up last-minute holiday gifts without breaking the bank.

Instead of offering discounts just on select merchandise—a.k.a. the less desirable stuff that hasn't been selling well during the holidays—these stores are giving broad, storewide deals on everything they sell. And the discounts are deep, with cuts of 40% off or more across the board.

These are the kinds of deals that tend to pop on major sale days like Cyber Monday and Black Friday—but they're in effect right now, with less than a week before Christmas. In most cases, these deals are valid in-store and online, though at this point shoppers may have to pay extra for shipping that's guaranteed to arrive by Christmas.

Stores With 40% (or More) Off Everything

Abercrombie & Fitch: Everything in store and online is 40% to 60% off at Abercrombie. For online purchases made through today, December 20, most orders qualify for $5 shipping that will arrive in time to give as Christmas presents.

J. Crew Factory: Everything is 40% to 60% off right now, plus online shoppers get an additional 50% off clearance items by entering the code FIFTY at checkout.

Talbots: Talbots shoppers get 40% off everything except new arrivals right now.

Tommy Hilfiger: Use the code EOS40 (that's the letter O the first time, and the number zero at the end) for an extra 40% off your entire purchase.

True Religion: Everything in store and online is 40% off at True Religion right now.

Stores With 50% (or More) Off Everything

Ann Taylor: Nearly everything is 50% off for in-store and online purchases from Ann Taylor right now.
