Airlines may routinely make some of the most hated companies lists, but it appears this year they're slightly more likable.

Despite widespread concerns about long TSA security lines, Airline customer complaints were down over 12% in the first six months of the year compared to last year, according to a report from the Department of Transportation. The Department received 1,492 complaints in June, down 27.1 percent from the total of 2,048 filed in June 2015, but up 31.6 percent from the 1,134 received in May 2016.

Specifically, complaints about customer service, ticketing, fares, delays, cancellations, and misconnections were all down, while grievances about discrimination (based on race, religion, or national origin) and treatment of disabled customers were up from 2015. Fares were the most common complaint.
