Applying to a job can be daunting, even more so when you're 50 or older and competing with younger applicants. Kerry Hannon has three career fields that are promising for workers looking for their second or third career.

**Health Care Advocate.** The health care field in general is hiring, but being an advocate for older patients is perfect for someone over 50. You would help with billing and coordinating benefits.

**Financial Planner.** Much training is required, but you would be helping people work out their finances.

**Interpreter or Translator.** You'll need more than your high-school Spanish to get ahead with this one.
