It Just Got More Expensive to Go to Harry Potter World
Universal Orlando's theme parks are upping their ticket prices.
One-day admission for one of the resort's individual parks now run for $110, up from $105, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Park-to-park tickets, which allow visitors to access multiple theme parks within the resort, are now $165, a $10 increase. Kids get a $5 discount, however.
Prices change depending on the time of year. The Sentinel notes that during peak season, a single-park ticket costs $124 for adults. The new prices apply to admission for Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Island of Adventure theme parks, each of which has a special Wizarding World of Harry Potter section.
Universal has yet to list single-day prices for Volcano Bay, the water park slated to open on May 25. Three-day tickets that include access to Volcano Bay can be purchased starting at $220. That number could increase if customers decide to visit multiple parks within the resort.
So far, the company has not raised prices in 2017 on Universal Studios Hollywood in California, but we expect it will soon. Last year, the California theme park saw a price increase a few weeks after admission was bumped up at its sister parks in Florida.
Universal Orlando's move comes less than a week after Disney World raised its ticket prices. On Sunday, that park increased single-day admission to the Magic Kingdom to $107.
