One week into the 2018 FIFA World Cup, it's very much up in the air what team will ultimately win the championship. Months before the tournament began, Germany was given the highest odds of winning the World Cup, at 9/2. That means a $100 bet placed back then on Germany to win the championship would pay off $450, plus the original $100.

But the World Cup betting odds are always changing. Right before it began, Germany was an even stronger favorite to win it all, at 7/2. After losing its opening round game to Mexico, however, Germany's odds of winning the World Cup changed to 8/1. In other words, a $100 bet on Germany to win the 2018 World Cup now would pay off $800, plus the original $100.

The excitement of the tournament, along with the constantly shifting odds and the recent legalization of sports betting in New Jersey, had us wondering: How much would you win if you made a $100 bet on the team that ultimately wins the 2018 World Cup? In one case, you would have walked away with a cool $100,000 if you bet on an underdog team and it miraculously paid off.

Here are the all the World Cup odds right before the tournament began, and how much you'd come away with by placing a $100 bet on each of the 32 teams competing for the championship this year. (Note: Saudi Arabia and Morocco have already been eliminated.)

All of the information comes courtesy of William Hill, which runs the sports book at Monmouth Park track in New Jersey.
