Serena Williams Is Selling Her $12 Million Mansion That Surprisingly Has No Tennis Court
For $12 million, you can live like one of the world's best tennis players.
Serena Williams just listed her longtime home in Bel Air, Calif., for $12 million — double the $6.612 million she paid for it back when she bought it in 2006, according to Trulia.
The 6,101-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and sits on 2.7 acres in the rolling hills just north of Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Built in 1935, the home has an updated interior with stone floors, an elevator and a stunning master bathroom, among other features. Like many homes owned by celebrities in Los Angeles, this one is also in a gated community with high security.
One of the largest properties in the area, the backyard includes a pool, gardens and private hiking trails. While there is no tennis court on the athlete's property, photos of the home's interior show a room filled with workout equipment.
The legendary athlete gave birth to her first daughter in early September and is engaged to the child's father, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The two plan to get married sometime this fall.
And this Bel Air home isn't Williams's only property. The tennis star has a home in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and another in Jupiter, Fla. She also once owned a condo in Los Angeles on Wilshire Blvd., which she sold for $1.85 million in 2013, according to Trulia.
The listing agent for the Bel Air property did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
