The Best Way to Ask for a Raise

A thing that's universally acknowledged is that it's difficult to approach your boss and ask for a raise. Money coach Lynnette Khalfani-Cox addresses four points that will help you ask for a raise:

Keep track of your success: Document all of your accomplishments and compliments, whether from clients, employers, or coworkers.

Show your employer your value: Provide the numerical value, if you can, of your accomplishments: Sales you've made and deals you've brokered, for example.

Choose the right time to ask for a raise: Be aware of the environment in which you work and make sure it's the right time.

Heed your employer's feedback: Make sure to take into account the criteria that would make you eligible for a raise.
