Captain's Log, star date Sept. 8, 2016: humanity sees Star Trek turn 50.

The show's expanse in the science fiction universe seems as vast as the Nexus: seven television series, 10 movies, three reboot movies (so far) -- and now, landing on CBS in January 2017, a reboot of the original show.

Would you like to own a piece of the historic franchise? Up for sale are costumes, set pieces, props, masks, molds, and the outer shell of the spacecraft. The most expensive item? Captain Kirk's command chair, which goes for more than $300,000.

Live long and prosper indeed.
